For me, wellbeing is a mixture of many different things, activities, and events. Many of the activities I do for my wellbeing consist of the hobbies that I have an interest in and love dearly.
One of my favourite activities for my wellbeing is watching comedy shows. Specifically, Dropout shows (Reich, 2024). I watch these shows whenever I'm not feeling good about some aspect of myself or what might've happened that day. These shows are almost always extremely funny and help me ignore or forget about the inconsequential event that might've made me feel bad.
Another one is making 3D renders. I usually do this (and photography, but more on that later) to express my creativity and because it piques my curiosity. The minimal canvas of a single cube, a light, and a camera somehow lets my creativity run wild as I make random renders of various different subjects. Sometimes, this creativity comes from the UI itself. I might find a random button or effect which suddenly makes me think of all the possible ways I could utilise it. It then slowly forms into a tangible idea as I continue to work on it which I can then just render out to see the final product which came from a simple idea/concept.
Explore RendersAnother activity I do for my wellbeing is play Cities: Skylines (Colossal, 2015). The game is a realistic city builder game where you build up a whole city by building roads, shops, houses, trains, etc. It's a very calming and really helps me when I'm stressing out over something minor or something that I shouldn't really be stressing about as much. The structure to how a city grows and the freedom to create and build is one of the main aspects of the game that I really enjoy and is the main reason I play it. It also puts our world into a new perspective where I'm able to better understand how and why cities in reality are constructed the way they are.
This leads into another hobby that is photography. Photography is a way for me to explore the camera I have and the world around me. It also helps me train my focus to pay attention to smaller things around us in nature wherever we are. This helps me appreciate life more as I'm able to notice these tiny details that might seem inconsequential to most people but are actually marvels or simply just interesting to look at.
